Novell Announces Licensing Agreement With Pionex

Multimedia Home Computers Now Come Bundled With Main Street Consumer Software

OREM, Utah--March 3, 1995--Novell, Inc. today announced a licensing agreement for its WordPerfect Main Street products with Pionex, a manufacturer of full multimedia machines specifically for the retail consumer market.

Seven Main Street titles will be included on all Pionex machines and will provide a variety of tools for both work and play. The bundle is targeted exclusively at the home market.

The WordPerfect Main Street products being bundled include WordPerfect Works for Windows, InfoCentral, Grammatik, Random House Webster's School& Office Dictionary, Clip Art For The Home, Paper Planes and Wallobee Jack and The Lost Lionardo.

"The Main Street products bundled on Pionex machines provide a great value package for consumers," said Jeff Mallett, vice president and general manager, consumer products division, Novell, Inc. "After purchasing a high-quality Pionex computer, consumers will find it becomes more valuable with the Main Street software that is included -- the computer simply becomes more practical in the home."

WordPerfect Works for Windows is a tightly integrated software package featuring a word processor, database, spreadsheet, draw and paint module and a communications link. InfoCentral is WordPerfect Main Street's personal information manager -- the same program included in the recently released and highly praised Novell PerfectOffice software suite.

Grammatik and Random House Webster's School& Office dictionary provide reference help, while Clip Art for the Home lets users spruce up letters, birthday cards, etc. Wallobee Jack: The Lost Lionardo and Paper Planes provide entertainment for the whole family.

Main Street consumer software is also licensed by 3D Micro of Canada. Other software bundling agreements will be announced during the first quarter.

Pionex manufactures high-quality personal computers for the consumer marketplace. Their 800 U.S. outlets include BJ's Wholesale Club, Home Shopping Network, Sam's Club, Damark International, Office 1 Superstores and Sound Advice.

The Pionex line is targeted at the knowledgeable, more experienced and feature-conscious consumer. All Pionex machines include multimedia capabilities.

WordPerfect Main Street software continues to make home computers more practical and computing more pervasive with a wide range of titles in the areas of personal productivity, family entertainment and home education.
