Novell Kicks Off NetWare 4.1 World Solutions Tour
Novell and 24 Partners Demonstrate NDS-Integrated Business
Solutions that Cut Administrative Costs, Improve Productivity
PROVO, UT--April 4, 1995--Novell, Inc., and 24 partners today kicked off
the NetWare 4.1 World Solutions Tour, a worldwide road show
showcasing NetWare 4-based business solutions available today that
simplify network administration, reduce the cost of network ownership
and lay the foundation for pervasive computing. The seminars include
demonstrations of 16 products integrated with NetWare Directory
Services (NDS), the industry-standard directory that turns a multiserver
network into a single, coherent information system and provides a
central point of network administration.
"Customers attending the NetWare 4.1 Solutions seminars will
see firsthand how Novell and its partners are delivering a new
generation of network solutions--including database and development
tools, document management, telephony, messaging, storage and
antivirus--that are tightly integrated with the NetWare 4 directory, making
networks easier to use and administer and less expensive to own,
operate and maintain," said Toby Corey, vice president of Marketing for
Novell's NetWare Products Division. "As this tour demonstrates,
third-party vendors believe in the power and installed base of NDS and
are delivering NDS-integrated solutions to their customers."
The free, day-long NetWare 4.1 Solutions seminars include 15
breakout sessions with solution demonstrations, inside tips for getting
the most out of a NetWare 4 network, and information on upgrading to
NetWare 4.1 from previous versions of NetWare. The NetWare 4.1 World
Solutions Tour begins with 25 cities in the United States and Canada and
will continue on to Europe, Australia, South America and Japan later this
summer.

NetWare 4.1: The Only Network Ready for Tomorrow, Today
Released in December 1994, NetWare 4.1 is the most recent
version of the NetWare 4 network operating system. NetWare 4.1 builds
on the solid foundation of NetWare 3 to simplify network access, simplify
network administration, and reduce the cost of network ownership for
businesses of all sizes while retaining the performance, reliability and
scalability that have made NetWare the overwhelming NOS leader. As
the only network operating system that provides the seven essential
network service--file, print, directory, security, messaging, multiprotocol
routing and management--NetWare 4.1 lays the foundation for pervasive
computing, Novell's vision of connecting people to other people and to the
information they need, allowing them to act on it anytime, anyplace.
In Novell's first fiscal quarter of 1995, sales of NetWare 4 more
than doubled over sales in the fourth fiscal quarter of 1994 and
increased to represent 30 percent of the company's total NetWare NOS
revenue. Fueled by the shipment of NetWare 4.1 and the product's
positive acceptance by customers, trade press and the sales channel,
this aggressive market growth signals the industry's growing recognition
of NetWare 4 as the emerging NOS standard.
