Novell Announces Application Executive Departure
OREM, Utah -- April 7, 1995 -- Novell, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOVL) today
announced the departure of David C. Moon from its Applications Group,
the Novell business unit built around the former WordPerfect
Corporation. Moon, the group's senior vice president, development, is
leaving Novell to pursue other opportunities.
Moon joined Novell following its 1994 acquisition of WordPerfect ,
where he was chief technology officer. He provided technical leadership
for WordPerfect's transition into the Novell Applications Group, helping to
evolve WordPerfect, GroupWise and other leading products into network
applications and integrate them into Novell's PerfectOffice Suite.
"I have decided to pursue other interests and opportunities,
including a new family business that I will be helping to set up, " said
Moon. "We just celebrated the birth of our seventh child, and this change
will allow me to spend more time with my family and other
responsibilities. "I have great respect for Novell's people, and for Bob
Frankenberg's leadership, and am very optimistic about the exciting
market opportunities that the Novell Applications Group is well poised to
exploit."
An employee of WordPerfect Corporation since 1982, Moon
began working at the company after completing an undergraduate
degree in computer science at Brigham Young University. He played a
leading role in the creation of WordPerfect's major application products,
including WordPerfect, WordPerfect Presentations, and WordPerfect
Informs.
