Novell's Youngest, Fastest-Growing Certification Reaches 50,000 Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) Program Growing by 10,000 a Quarter
May 25, 1995--Orem, Utah--Novell, Inc. reached a significant milestone
today when it announced the certification of its 50,000th Certified Novell
Administrator (CNA), the front-line support professionals who perform
administrative tasks and basic network troubleshooting. Growing at the
rate of more than 10,000 a quarter, Novell's two-and-one-half-year-old
CNA program is the company's fastest growing certification program;
Fiona Desruisseaux of Ottawa, Canada is Novell's 50,000th CNA.
"The phenomenal growth of this certification worldwide attests to
the success of CNAs in increasing literacy on Novell products," said
Jerry Christensen, Director of Business Development for Novell
Education. "CNAs provide the front-line expertise required to support
small, medium, and large businesses. Together with Certified Novell
Engineers, Certified Novell Administrators are key to Novell Education and
Novell Inc.'s corporate support model."
CNAs set the global standard for administering networking and
network applications. They play a key role in building the global pervasive
computing infrastructure by ensuring that end users have the day-to-day
networking and administration support they need.
50,000 CNA PERSPECTIVE
Fiona Desruisseaux, Novell's 50,000th CNA, completed her
certification in April, having successfully passed the CNA exam at
Netvision, a Drake Authorized Testing Center in Ottawa. A former end
user herself, Desruisseaux pursued her certification to help her learn
more about "the backbone" of computer systems. Relying on her CNA
status, Desruisseaux is now a self employed networking administration
consultant.
"I selected the CNA certification because I knew I would have an
easier time establishing myself in this business if my expertise were in
Novell products," said Desruisseaux. "The training I received gave me a
good grounding in the fundamentals of networking. Those basics help
me when servicing any client--whether they are using Novell products or
not."
HOLISTIC CERTIFICATION STRATEGY
The certification of the 50,000th CNA follows Novell's March
announcement of the 50,000th Certified Novell Engineer (CNE), Jan
Schipper of Houten, The Netherlands. CNAs and CNEs are part of
Novell's holistic certification strategy that supports networking and
network application customers from installation and maintenance to
administration to the desktop.
NOVELL EDUCATION
Novell Education's mission is to drive global pervasive computing
through quality education programs and products; its purpose is to
increase literacy on Novell products and technologies and thereby foster
Novell's success worldwide. Novell Education plays a critical role in
providing true pervasive computing by building the infrastructure of
support and literacy that is necessary to drive and sustain that vision.
