Novell Ships New Quattro Pro UpdateWith Full Lotus 1-2-3 Support

OREM, Utah -- July 24, 1995 -- Novell, Inc. today announced an update to Quattro Pro, Novell's award-winning spreadsheet which is a major component of the PerfectOffice suite. The new update helps Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet users make a smooth transition to Quattro Pro with Lotus menus and keystroke macro compatibility. The update also converts Microsoft Excel 5.0 file and styles so Quattro Pro and Excel users can seamlessly share files.

Compatibility with Lotus 1-2-3

Users will be able to display a sophisticated menu tree compatible with the Lotus 1-2-3 menu tree, allowing them to switch without learning new menu commands, yet harness the additional functionality available in Quattro Pro. In addition, built-in Lotus 1-2-3 keystroke macro compatibility allows users to run Lotus 1-2-3 macros from within Quattro Pro. A Lotus Macro Translation Assistant ships with the new Quattro Pro update to assist users in converting Lotus 1-2-3 keystroke macros to Quattro Pro macro commands.

Other Enhancements

The new update also includes the Block Navigator which allows users to easily navigate named ranges in a spreadsheet with the click of a button. A new multi-currency formatting capability lets users display multiple currencies per page, eliminating confusion when working with worksheets or budgets prepared in various countries. This feature is especially useful for companies consolidating information from different regions.
