Novell Demonstrates Internet Solutions At TCP/IP Technology Conference
August 2, 1995
What:
Novell, Inc., will demonstrate LAN WorkPlace# 5, the industry's premiere
desktop TCP/IP solution, at TCP/IP Expo, a new information technology
forum for decision makers to learn about the next generation of
internetworking standards. The demonstration will highlight the new
features of LAN WorkPlace 5 including its world-class internet browser
and its full-featured suite of WinSock-compliant applications.
The Novell demonstration will take place at the WinSock Pavilion,
sponsored by Stardust Technologies, Inc. The Pavilion (booth #700) will
feature the growing industry support for WinSock-enabled TCP/IP
applications, which enables Windows-based applications to
communicate over any WinSock-compatible TCP/IP stack.
Novell is a founding sponsor of Stardust WinSock Labs, an
industry-wide group offering support and services to developers and
implementors of the WinSock API. Novell#s involvement with Stardust
underscores its commitment to open standards such as WinSock, and
gives Novell the opportunity to provide input to how this standard
evolves over time.
LAN WorkPlace 5 provides networked and remote Windows and DOS
users with a full suite of WinSock 1.1 applications that gives users
concurrent access to Internet, TCP/IP, UNIX# and NetWare# network
resources. LAN WorkPlace 5 builds upon Novell#s expertise in the
desktop TCP/IP market to deliver expanded information access
capabilities to meet new customer requirements. With nearly three million
users in over 30 countries, LAN WorkPlace is the global, industry-leading
