Novell Press and IDG Books Worldwide Bring Experts to Users through Seven New Titles

Designed to Improve Value of Novell Networks and Applications

ATLANTA, Ga. -- September 27, 1995 -- Three months after announcing an exclusive book publishing agreement, Novell, Inc., and IDG Books Worldwide, Inc., unveiled seven new titles today at NetWorld+Interop to improve the productivity and skills of Novell NetWare, GroupWise, and WordPerfect technical and non-technical users. Each book is bundled with rich, interactive media to permit personalized use. The titles effectively bring Novell experts to the desktops and print libraries of developers, administrators, and end users.

The new series reflects the marriage of IDG Books Worldwide's marketing and publishing expertise with Novell's awarding-winning expert authors and editors. "These titles are an important addition to the Novell Press line for several reasons," said Christine Hughes, senior vice president of Corporate Marketing for Novell. The bundled CD includes interactive training models and hundreds of new sample CNE test questions

  • Novell's NetWare 4.1 Administrator's Handbook, Kelley J.P. Lindberg - This book, perfect for field use, includes worksheets for documenting networks, explanations of log-in scripts and menu programs for automating users' environments, and descriptions of all workstation utilities, file server utilities, and NetWare Loadable Modules. 400 pages. The full text of the book is included on the bundled 3.5" diskette, along with tables of parameters and settings.

  • Novell's PerfectOffice Developer's Guide, Steven W. Mann, Rod D. Sturgis, and Jeff R. Porcaro - This guide explains tools and methods for creating custom solutions. Comprehensive tips from the PerfectOffice Solutions Group on using development tools is provided. 800 pages.   • Novell's Guide to NetWare 4.1 Networks, Jeffrey F.
