Novell Appoints Sheri Anderson as Chief Information Officer
Orem, UT -- October 9, 1995 -- Novell today named Sheri
Anderson as senior vice president and chief information officer. In this position, Anderson takes
responsibility for Novell internal information systems and networks worldwide. She will focus
on the development, implementation and maintenance of local and wide-area networks,
groupware and productivity applications, and integrated data, voice and video systems designed
to expand productivity, communication, and collaboration among Novell personnel, customers,
and business partners. She reports to James R. Tolonen, Novell executive vice president and
chief financial officer.
Anderson has over 18 years of experience in information systems (IS) management, including an
outstanding record of achievement in the design and application of advanced technology to solve
business problems. She held executive IS positions at Charles
Schwab& Company, the San Francisco-based securities firm, where she worked from 1984 to
1994. As senior vice president in Schwab's IS division, she led the development of the systems
and network infrastructure that helped the firm pioneer the discount securities brokerage
business and rapidly grow into a national leader. Prior to joining Schwab, she managed major
systems engineering projects for
Wells Fargo and Electronic Data Systems and served as a manpower analyst for the U.S. Navy.
