NOVELL NAMES RICHARD NORTZ TO HEAD TECHNICAL SERVICES DIVISION

Orem, UTAH -- October 23, 1995 -- Novell, Inc. today announced the appointment of Richard Nortz as Senior Vice President of Novell Technical Services. He will be responsible for the company's global technical support operations.

Nortz joins Novell after 4 years as Senior Vice President for Wang Laboratories Worldwide Customer Service Business and 18 years with Digital Equipment Corporation, where he was Vice President of the 11,000 person U.S. Customer Service Business. During his time with Wang Laboratories, Nortz also spent 9 months as acting General Manager of Europe. Among Nortz' accomplishments at Wang were the refocusing of the corporate service strategy to become an Independent Worldwide Multi-vendor service provider with particular emphasis on Desktop and Helpdesk services. Nortz was also responsible for Wang's achievement of ISO9002 certification in the U.S. organization and five international subsidiaries.

"His strengths position Novell to take a greater leadership role in providing technical support tools and services to the company's rapidly expanding network of partners and customers."
