NOVELL ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION OF E.J. TIM HARRIS
Orem, UT November 1, 1995 Novell today announced that
E.J. Tim Harris has resigned for medical reasons as the company's senior vice president, human
resources and corporate officer. Harris has had worldwide responsibility for Novell's human
resources and eleemosynary programs since 1989. He has been recognized for his leadership
during Novell's acquisition of over 30 companies and growth from 2,000 to over 7,000
employees.
Paul Cook, Novell vice president of international human resources, will assume Harris'
responsibilities until a decision is made on his replacement.
"Tim Harris has made enormous contributions to Novell's growth as a market leader and a great
place to work," said Robert J.
Frankenberg, Novell chairman and CEO. "All of us at Novell recognize his achievements with
respect and gratitude, and we wish him a speedy recovery from the medical problems that have
caused his resignation."
Harris was vice president for human resources at Excelan prior to its merger with Novell in 1989.
He previously held management positions at National Semiconductor Corporation and AT&T.
A decorated Vietnam veteran, Harris has also served on the boards of corporate and non-profit
organizations, including IntelliMatch,
Inc., Good Samaritan Hospital, San Jose Repertory Theater, Utah
International Aerospace Education Foundation, Junior Achievement, and
Coalition for Justice ensuring the excellence of the California judicial system. He is a member of
the advisory committee to the sheriff of
Santa Clara County and, for the past 11 years, has served on the
Executive Committee of the State Bar Court of California.
