Novell Changes Support Model for Novell DOS 7 and DR DOS Products
Customers Continue To Receive Complimentary Support
Through Electronic Services
OREM, Utah -- November 16, 1995 -- Novell today announced that as of February 1, 1996, the company will no longer provide Novell DOS 7® and DR DOS users with Classic Service, the company's complimentary, direct telephone support. Novell will continue to provide users of Novell
DOS 7 and DR DOS with installation, configuration, and usability telephone support through Priority Service. Customers can obtain Priority
Service for these products by calling 800-768-9771 or 801-429-2929
($50 per incident); or 900-555-6000 ($2.95 charge for the first minute,
$1.95 for each additional minute).
This step is consistent with Novell's strategic direction to discontinue its DOS desktop operating system efforts, while focusing on network computing technologies. Novell previously announced that it will no longer enhance or modify the Novell DOS 7 and DR DOS products, both of which are no longer available on Novell's price list. These changes do not affect the stand-alone Personal NetWare product, which
Novell continues to market and support.
In addition to Priority Service, Novell DOS 7 and DR DOS customers can continue to receive complimentary technical support through Novell's electronic services, including:
