Novell Announces Netware 4 Training Extreme

Aggressive, Concentrated Course Readies 'NetWare 3 Elite'--CNEs, Student Customers--To Migrate To NetWare 4, the Networking 'Foundation of the Future'

BRAINSHARE '96, Salt Lake City, Utah -- March 20, 1996 -- With the burgeoning demand for the NetWare 4 operating system has come the increasing call for NetWare 4 support. Today, Novell announced its NetWare 4 Training Extreme program, to be provided to the "NetWare 3 Elite"-- CNEs and qualified student customers, through qualifying Novell Authorized Education Centers (NAECs). More than 200,000 NetWare 4 student kits have been purchased. After positive reviews of and sold-out bookings for NetWare 4 Training Extreme pilot programs in Washington D.C. and Chicago, Novell expects to increase that number by 30,000.

Scheduled to be available by May 1996, NetWare 4 Training Extreme will provide student customer with eight days (56 hours) of training in a five-day period of time. Courses included in the training are 526 NetWare 3 to NetWare 4 Update, 804 NetWare 4 Installation and Configuration, and 532 NetWare 4 Design and Implementation. This Novell-authorized course also prepares CNEs to successfully pass certification exams required for completing the June 30, 1996 CNE Continuing Certification Requirement deadline.

NetWare 4 Provides the Networking Foundation for the Future

"Solutions are more than just products," said Carolyn G. Rose, Senior Vice President/ General Manager of Novell Education. "Through Certified Novell Instructor facilitation, the applications and innovations discovered among highly-skilled peers in the classroom, and then implemented through networking systems in organizations, is how Novell-trained CNEs and student customers positively affect lives and impact businesses on a daily basis."

"NetWare 4 is the networking foundation for the future," said Jerry S. Christensen, Vice President of Marketing for Novell Education. "CNEs and student customers completing NetWare 4 Training Extreme will be well-prepared to lead their organizations in the migration of NetWare 4. As we arm qualified CNEs with NetWare 4, the quicker their organizations can implement it and positively impact the people they serve."

'NetWare 3 Elite' Only: Students Screened Before Admittance

Due to the intensity of NetWare 4 Training Extreme, students with less than three years of extensive experience supporting NetWare 3 networks will be advised to attend the regularly-scheduled, standard NetWare 4 training from NAECs.

Student Demand for NetWare 4 Is High

NetWare 4 Training Extreme follows on the heels of the highly successful NetWare 4 First Class training program, with 30,000 student customers participating. Along with fulfilling current Continuing Certification Requirement for CNEs, the course also assists students in completing their NetWare 4 CNE and Master CNE certifications. All student customers who attend NetWare 4 Training Extreme will receive a two-user version of NetWare 4 to reinforce their learning experience, and re-emphasize the unique, hands-on learning opportunities they receive from NAECs.

NetWare 4 Training Extreme is available to Novell CNEs and student customers for $1,995, a savings of more than 20 percent off the cost to receive all three NetWare 4 courses individually from an NAEC. Student customers interested in registering for NetWare 4 Training Extreme should contact Novell Education at 1-800-247-8731.
