Novell Launches "Connect Your World: A Partnership Perspective"
Roadshow
Showcase Presents Networking Solutions that Increase Productivity, Reduce Costs
OREM, Utah -- April 23, 1996 -- On May 2, 1996, Novell Inc. and over 30 leading hardware and software partners are scheduled to kick off this year's Novell Solutions Showcase Roadshow, entitled
"Connect Your World: A Partnership Perspective," with stops scheduled in 41 cities worldwide. This event will present business solutions that combine Novell products, including NetWare® 4 and Novell Directory Services (NDS), with partner products to create the integrated networking solutions that businesses need to compete in a network-centered world. The "Connect Your World" Solutions Showcase will demonstrate to users, developers and resellers how Novell and its industry partners are working together to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective networking solutions available today.
Together with its partners, Novell is offering solutions that connect businesses of all sizes to a Smart Global Network spanning from workgroup LANs to intranets and the Internet.
"At these seminars, attendees will experience networking from a new perspective with hands-on booth demonstrations from leading industry partners," said Robert Checketts, director of market development,
NetWare Products Division, at Novell. "They will also learn about the benefits of integrating NDS and peripherals with Novell Embedded System Technology (NEST) into their networks through business,
developer and technical breakout sessions geared toward attendee areas of interest. We've created these seminars to give customers strong evidence that Novell and its partners provide the most reliable and robust business solutions available."
NetWare and NDS, the industry-leading global directory service, are achieving strong market momentum, according to figures from International Data Corporation (IDC), a leading market research firm.
According to IDC, Novell shipped more NetWare connections in 1995 (51
percent) than all other server operating systems in the world combined.
In addition, sales of NetWare 4 connections increased more than 400
percent in 1995, making NetWare the world's best-selling server operating system. NetWare also maintains a 63-percent market share in the network operating system category, establishing NDS as the de facto industry standard for distributed network directory services -- a database for finding and managing network-based information. The
"Connect Your World" Solutions Showcase will highlight the growing number of NDS-aware solutions available and how Novell solutions can aid management, reduce cost of ownership and increase productivity in networks of all sizes.
Multiple Track Sessions
Each event will feature a Novell Interoperability Demo that will demonstrate the strengths of NetWare and other Novell products, and over 30 breakout sessions divided into the following three special-interest tracks.
- Business: These sessions will highlight the powerful financial and administrative benefits Novell and third-party networking solutions provide to businesses and end users.
- Technical-Developer: Developers, independent software vendors
(ISV), value-added resellers (VAR), original equipment manufacturers
(OEM), consultants and system integrators will learn about the benefits of building native solutions to Novell's NetWare and GroupWise XTD integrated messaging system, see partner tools that significantly ease NetWare development and hear more about the benefits of developing network-aware software with Net2000 application programming interfaces.
- Technical-Information Systems: Aimed primarily at technical reseller support personnel, Certified Novell Administrators (CNA) and CNEs,
sessions will focus on the technical benefits that NDS and NDS-integrated products provide for managing networks.
