Novell Announces NetWare 4.1 Grants for K-12 Education 250-user version offered for $995, a 93% savings for budget-conscious K-12 schools to gain technological competitive advantage for schools and students. NETDAY, Washington D.C. -- June 29, 1996 -- - In a move designed to help elementary and high school students obtain better access to technology in education, Novell today announced a NetWare 4.1 grant program for K-12 schools.Under the program, any public or private K-12 school will receive a grant for $6,502 towards the purchase of one 250-user-version copy of NetWare 4.1 for $995. The suggested retail price for a 250-user version of NetWare 4.1 is $12,495, and Novell's Direct Education price is $7,497. This grant program represents the opportunity for schools to benefit from NetWare's ease of use at a token license fee that is just 7% of its normal amount. The $995 NetWare 4.1 grant is limited to one 250-user copy per school. "Novell is dedicated to supporting the education community," said Dan Bagwell, senior director of Education Sales of Novell. "With the NetWare 4.1 K-12 grant, Novell is offering schools the chance to network their computers with the leading network software on the market today--and to do it without wiping out the technology budget.
