Novell Expands Enterprise Consulting Partners Program With New Custom Services

Enhanced Tools, Support Services, Workshops Empower Partners to Deliver Enterprise Network Solutions

OREM, UT-- July 8, 1996 -- Novell, Inc. today announced enhancements to its Enterprise Consulting Partners program that will provide leading consulting and systems integrator organizations with the customized tools and information they need to win bids from competitors and meet customer needs for enterprise-wide network solutions. New features of the program include Novell Consulting Opportunity Kits containing product demos and information, preferred technical support services offering fast and around-the clock response to technical problems, and in-depth Consulting Skills Workshops on key technical topics. Novell now offers these tools and workshops in custom formats designed to meet specific project needs and delivers them, on request, directly to the customer site where the consulting partner is engaged.

"With the explosion of intranet and Internet solutions, our partners are turning to Novell to provide these services as natural extensions to their existing corporate networks," said Bob Wise, vice president of Novell Consulting. "We are helping our partners meet these new challenges by simplifying their engagements with clients, reducing risk and increasing profitability."

Opportunity Kits Delivered to Customer Environment

Novell Consulting Opportunity Kits are available at no charge to all Enterprise Consulting Partners engaged in a qualified network integration bid or project. Materials specific to leading Novell products such as NetWare network operating systems, GroupWise messaging, ManageWise network management, and Internet solutions are available in kits that can be custom-tailored to the project situation and delivered within 24 hours directly to the partner's customer site. Contents include demonstration software, technical support incidents, education coupons, the Novell Consulting Toolkit CD-ROM, the Novell Support Encyclopedia, white papers and other tools and information specific to the partner's needs. Kits may be requested by Enterprise Consulting partners for customer engagements by visiting Novell's World Wide Web site at http://www.novell.com/programs/ncs/ncpp/password/oppkit.html [link removed]. "The Novell Consulting Opportunity Kit alone has been a significant addition to the program," said Jeff Burke, vice president and general manager of Xerox Technology Services in Rochester, New York. "By receiving additional information specifically tailored to our customer's situation, and having it delivered to us on site, we were able to quickly and easily integrate our customers' networked document needs with Novell solutions."

New Preferred Service Package Delivers Premium Technical Support

In response to partner requests, Novell is also introducing preferred technical support services available to Enterprise Consulting Partners on a seven-days-per week and 24-hour-per-day ("7x24") basis. The new Preferred Service Package augments the existing Standard Service Package which is available to all Enterprise Consulting Partners at no charge. The fee-based Preferred Service Package is available to those Enterprise Consulting Partners that offer help desk support and includes a variety of customized global technical service options, such as priority wait-listing on a "7x24" basis and procedures for escalating technical problems more quickly to the appropriate support professional.

Novell Brings Workshops to Customer Sites

Novell is also responding to partner requests by making its Consulting Skills Workshops available on partner premises worldwide at no charge. These workshops, written and presented by Novell Consulting staff, provide partners and customers with information on the design, configuration, integration, and implementation of Novell network solutions, including solutions combining multiple Novell products. Partners have the option of hosting the workshops at their own facilities or at customer sites, where they can conveniently educate and train their team members and accounts.

Novell Consulting Skills Workshops currently available include sessions on the NetWare/IP product for integration of IPX/SPX and TCP/IP networks, NetWare Advanced Strategies, Network Management, and the next major release of Novell's messaging and document management solution with GroupWise 5. Workshops can be requested by contacting the local Novell Consulting business development manager or visiting Novell's World Wide Web site at http://www.novell.com/programs/ncs/ncpp/password/register.html [link removed].
