Novell Names Jennifer Konecny-Costa as Senior Vice President of Human Resources

OREM, Utah -- July 18, 1996 -- Novell, Inc. announced the appointment of Jennifer Konecny-Costa as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Reporting directly to Novell CEO and chairman Robert J. Frankenberg, Ms. Konecny-Costa is responsible for all Novell Human Resources activities worldwide.

Ms. Konecny-Costa comes to Novell with an extensive background in Human Resources and in high technology environments. Her most recent position was at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich& Rosati, a law firm representing high technology companies, as vice president Human Resources. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Human Resources at Silicon Graphics from 1988 through 1994. She started her HR career at Hewlett Packard in 1979.

Ms. Konecny-Costa dedicates much of her personal time to community and nonprofit activities including boards of the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Tech Museum of Innovation. She is a member of the Board of Regents at Santa Clara University and a Senior Fellow of the Silicon Valley American Leadership Forum.

She holds a BA in political science, an MA in counseling psychology from Santa Clara University, and is a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor.
