Novell Ships ManageWise 2.1 -- The Next Release of Leading LAN Management Solution New Release Backed by Major Discounts for Businesses Replacing or Upgrading Their LAN Management Solution OREM, Utah -- August 5, 1996 -- Novell, Inc. today announced first customer shipments of ManageWise™ 2.1, the only comprehensive end-to-end LAN management solution that increases network reliability and performance while boosting end-user and overall business productivity. This new ManageWise release features Windows® 95 and OS/2 WARP clients, improved software inventory and more extensive virus protection. ManageWise 2.1 also allows administrators to manage their LAN from a Windows 95 desktop and utilizes the ManageWise Agent™ for Windows NT Server 2.1 to manage NT servers as well as NetWare servers. To help customers take advantage of these new features, Novell is launching several promotions to make it easy to buy or upgrade to ManageWise 2.1. "IS managers who want to manage their cross-platform PC LAN can do it today with ManageWise 2.1," said Shelley Dougery, director of marketing for Novell's Management Products Division. "We are supporting our customers' current investment in LAN management solutions with aggressive upgrade programs."
Discounted upgrades for users of Novell and competitive products For the first time, Novell is offering a management upgrade to customers who wish to change from another company's management product to ManageWise. Customers save 40% off the list price of ManageWise when they exchange any of these systems for a ManageWise 2.1 solution before January 31, 1997. The products included in this promotion are:
"Get Wise" promotion benefits customers and resellers Novell is also sponsoring the "Get Wise" program for resellers. Participating Novell resellers will receive one 100-user or two 25-user versions of ManageWise 2.1 free for every three copies that they sell and support with two hours of free consulting.
