NAEC Locator Internet Tool Connects Novell Student
Customers with Novell Authorized Education Centers (NAECs) around
the World
EDGE, Dallas -- September 9, 1996 -- Novell, Inc. is
extending its commitment to "getting the customer connected" with
Novell-authorized training by introducing the NAEC Locator, an
Internet tool that helps customers around the world easily and quickly
locate the Novell Authorized Education Center* (NAEC*) nearest to their
homes or offices. Novell made the announcement to more than 500 North
American and Latin American NAECs gathered here for its annual Edge
partner conference.
With the NAEC Locator, student customers can receive current
information on the global network of NAECs by using search criteria
such as country, province/state, city, or area/city telephone code. The
NAEC Locator Internet tool is now available on Novell Education's
web page at http://education.novell.com.
"The NAEC Locator is another example of Novell's ongoing
commitment to connect the student customer to The Source for
authorized training--our NAECs ," said Carolyn G. Rose, senior vice
president and general manager of Novell Education. "This powerful
customer/channel connection provides just-in-time information on Novell
authorized training, something our student customers have told us they
want."
Student Customer Benefits
Once the student customer has located the preferred NAEC, he or she
has access to the center's list of course offerings, as well as contact
information, including address, telephone/fax numbers and electronic mail
addresses. Promoting the immediate connection between customer and
NAEC, student customers can send E-mail directly to NAECs from the
Locator screen.
Novell announced that course listings will soon be linked to Novell
Education's online course catalog so student customers can receive a
full course description when accessing the NAEC Locator.
Novell Channel Receives Value-Added Service, "Great Opportunity"
with NAEC Locator
Participation in NAEC Locator service is free of charge to all
NAECs. This new student customer-NAEC connection supplements the
lead referral service provided by Virtual University Enterprises (VUE), for
student customers calling in to Novell Education's "800" phone line in
North America and other customer support lines around the world.
"The NAEC Locator is a clear case of a Novell product working smarter,
not harder," said Michael Hardy, NAEC manager of Campbell,
Australia-based Imageword. "The NAEC Locator is just what we
need on the Web. With so many of our clients communicating through
E-mail, the NAEC Locator provides another great opportunity for
NAECs all over the globe."
Added Doug McBride, executive director of the Information Technology
Training Assoc., "The NAEC Locator provides a much-needed
resource for the prospective student to find the training they need. With
the new Internet certification, NAECs need new media to reach a new
class of student customers."
