Novell Announces the Release of Natural Language Interface for
Help Software Developers Kit
Users to Benefit from Plain Language Help Interface
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- October 30, 1996 -- Novell, Inc.
today announced that the Novell Collexion Natural Language
Interface for Help Software Developers Kit (NLIH SDK) will be
available November 1, 1996.
The Novell NLIH SDK is the first product on the market that lets software
developers enhance their Windows Help systems with natural language
access, using Novell's sophisticated Ask Me
technology.
Ask Me lets on-line Help users get answers to plain
language questions. Users simply type in questions using their own
words, and Ask Me invisibly translates each question
into the right query and retrieves the most pertinent help topic. The result
is faster, easier and more accurate access to any help system without
guessing which terms to use.
The Novell Collexion NLIH SDK provides the necessary tools for
software developers to integrate Ask Me help access
into any new or existing Windows help system.
"The Novell NLIH SDK is the first product on the market that allows any
software company to implement natural language help to any program,"
said Rudy Montigny, Vice President of Engineering. "This plain language
technology will become the standard for help systems industry-wide."
The NLIH SDK is currently available in English, French, German, Spanish,
Italian and Dutch for all Windows 95 and NT help systems. The NLIH SDK
is also compatible with the Microsoft Windows Help Workshop as well as
other major help authoring systems.
