Novell Joins Java Education World Tour
Novell Joins IBM, Netscape and Sun to Sponsor Global Effort In Delivering Java
Education Training
OREM, Utah -- February 5, 1997 -- Novell, Inc. today joined IBM Corp.,
Netscape Communications Corp. and Sun Microsystems, Inc. as a new sponsor and
participant in the Java Education World Tour, which begins February 21 in San Francisco.
The worldwide tour will deliver the most up-to-date Java information and underscore industry
support and momentum for Sun Microsystems, Inc.'s 100 Percent Pure Java initiative. The
tour program will include Novell president Joe Marengi in a videotaped presentation highlighting
Novell's strategy and contributions to the Java development environment. Novell technical staff
will also provide attendees with educational support for the latest advancements in Java.

Novell Support for Java
Novell recently released the IntranetWare software development kit (SDK) for Java,
which enables developers to write platform-independent, scalable and distributed applications and
execute them on Novell's industry-leading IntranetWare and NetWare platforms. Novell is also
working closely with Sun Microsystems and other industry partners to provide Java developers
with easy access to Novell's leading network services, including Novell Directory Services
(NDS) through open, 100 Percent Pure Java class libraries. Developers will use Java
directory and naming interfaces to build directory-enabled applications for business intranets and
the Internet.
