Novell Welcomes GE Capital Information Technology Solutions to Enterprise Consulting Program

Program to Further Strengthen Delivery of Internet- and Java-based Technology Solutions to Customers

PROVO, Utah -- April 21, 1997-- Novell, Inc. today welcomed GE Capital Information Technology Solutions to its Enterprise Consulting Partner (ECP) program, making GE the first channel partner to qualify for both the Novell National Network Integrator (NNI) and ECP designations.

A leading worldwide provider of IT products and services, GE Capital IT Solutions was selected as a Novell ECP because of their extensive knowledge of Novell technology and an expansive North American consultant program which currently boasts more than 500 members nationwide.

"As one of Novell's Enterprise Consulting Partners, GE Capital IT Solutions has made a serious commitment to training and support of Novell products and methodologies," said Bob Wise, vice president of worldwide consulting for Novell. "Participation in the ECP program will allow Novell to further strengthen GE Capital IT Solutions' ability to deliver Internet- and Java-based technology solutions to our mutual customers."

As a Novell ECP, GE Capital IT Solutions will receive access to Novell technical, marketing and sales resources, which can be transferred to customers to help give them a broader understanding of the Novell family of solutions. By providing on-site skill transfer workshops, evaluation software and innovative technical support, GE Capital IT Solutions will help customers deploy enterprise-wide business solutions based on Novell products.

"Our strategic relationship with Novell, through both NNI and ECP programs, allows us to better meet our customers' unique business needs by strengthening our technical consultative skills and by enhancing our ability to plan, design and implement very complex networking solutions," said Bill Bancroft, GE Capital IT Solutions' U.S. executive vice president of technical solutions. Bancroft added that the enterprise server solutions market space is one of GE Capital IT Solutions' key lines of business. "Clearly," said Bancroft, "our alliance with Novell allows us to provide our clients with the key product set they're demanding."

Novell's ECP program was specifically created to ease the installation and support of large, enterprise-wide Novell networks by partnering with an elite group of the industry's leading systems integrators and consulting organizations. There are currently 65 ECPs worldwide providing technical consulting expertise to Novell's top-tier "Global 500" customers.
