Media Alert "The COMDEX Intranet -- Novell Connecting Points" To Demonstrate Advanced Integration and Scalability of Core Novell Products In Largest Tradeshow Network Novell Chairman and CEO, Eric Schmidt's Keynote to Highlight the Future of Internet-Enabled Products and Services Press are invited to visit "The COMDEX Intranet -- Novell Connecting Points," and to schedule a one-on-one briefing to learn about the easy integration, interoperability and extreme scalability of Novell's key products -- IntranetWare, Novell Directory Services, GroupWise and BorderManager -- that make this network possible. Press are also invited to join Novell's Chairman and CEO, Eric Schmidt, as he delivers the Wednesday COMDEX keynote live and via a simultaneous Webcast available through Novell's World Wide Web site. Dr. Schmidt will host a press Q&A immediately following the keynote. The COMDEX Intranet -- Novell Connecting Points "The COMDEX Intranet -- Novell Connecting Points" is the largest tradeshow communications network ever built, and the first of its kind to serve COMDEX. Able to handle 250,000 users, the network will enable COMDEX attendees to stay connected to each other and their offices, send and receive E-mail, schedule appointments and access the Internet from five central locations on the floors of the Las Vegas and the Sands Convention Centers, or from their hotel rooms via a browser. The massive network will manage an estimated one million messages per day, for a total of five million messages by week's end. Connecting Points is the result of a collaboration among Novell, ZD COMDEX& FORUMS, Compaq and Bay Networks. The partnership ensures the security, reliability and performance of the system and is ideally suited to handle the high volume of messages expected to be handled by the network. Date and Location:
