Andrew Sadler-Smith Appointed Managing Director, Novell UK and Ireland Novell UK -- January 12, 1998 -- Novell, the world's leading networking software company, today announced that Andrew Sadler-Smith has been promoted to the role of managing director, Novell UK and Ireland. Based at Novell's offices in Bracknell, Berkshire, he will report to Roland Richter, vice president, Novell EMEA. Sadler-Smith, who has been with Novell for over four years, previously held the position of deputy managing director, with responsibility for business operations in the UK and Ireland. Prior to that he was Novell's UK sales director. Before joining Novell, Sadler-Smith was managing director of Systems Center UK (now Sterling Software), specialising in network and systems management for IBM mainframe sites, and general manager Cincom Systems, specialists in database and manufacturing systems. "We are delighted to be giving Andrew the opportunity to further develop his role within our European operations," commented Richter. "With his considerable experience of Novell's business in the UK and Ireland we have every confidence in his ability to execute on Eric Schmidt's plan to make Novell the Internet/intranet leader in the coming year." Sadler-Smith takes on his new responsibilities from Tom Schuster, former vice president for Northern Europe and UK country manager, prior to his departure from Novell in 1997.
