Stewart Nelson Appointed Senior Vice President of Novell Products Group PROVO, UTAH -- April 15, 1998 -- Novell, the world's leading networking software company, today announced that Stewart Nelson has been promoted to the role of senior vice president of Novell Products Group. Nelson will report to Novell Chairman and CEO Dr. Eric Schmidt.As Senior Vice President of Novell Products Group, Nelson is responsible for the development and delivery of the company's industry-leading intranet and Internet solutions. These currently include the NetWare family of network operating systems; the GroupWise collaboration products; the ManageWise network management solution; the BorderManager family of Internet/intranet infrastructure services; and Novell Directory Services for central control and management of network resources. Prior to heading Novell Products Group, Nelson was vice president and general manager of Novell's Collaboration Services Group, which pioneered numerous messaging-related advancements under his leadership, such as the extensible GroupWise universal mailbox, full remote synchronization, telephone and Web access, and integrated calendaring, scheduling and document management. Under Nelson's tenure, the GroupWise installed base grew from 800,000 to 8 million users. "Stewart and Novell's entire product team have done extraordinary things over the last year," said Dr. Eric Schmidt.
