Novell, KeyLabs Support Education Channel with Special Pricing On LabExpert

LabExpert Provides Fast, Easy, Installation, Configuration and Management for Classroom and Laboratory Computer Networks

Edge 98, SAN FRANCISCO — June 29, 1998 — Novell, Inc. and KeyLabs, Inc. today announced special limited-time promotional pricing for LabExpert, a configuration tool for PC classrooms, which is available to the Novell Authorized Education Center (NAEC) channel and other select corporate and commercial training centers through Oct. 30, 1998.

Running on Novell networks, LabExpert allows managers of computer labs and classrooms to configure and maintain any number of computers in a fraction of the time normally required. Without LabExpert, every computer has to be reconfigured by hand, which takes three to five hours for an average classroom. With LabExpert, however, computers can be reconfigured remotely and in less than 20 minutes. Computers are controlled from a single workstation, allowing for fast installation of application software and operating systems, easy reconfiguration of corrupted systems, and simplified management of any or all computers in the lab or classroom.

"The use of LabExpert delayed the need for us to purchase additional facilities and increased our dollar value per PC," said Robert Baird, facilities manager at New Horizons, an NAEC in Albuquerque. "We almost doubled our class load without increasing our square footage because we can have classrooms ready for additional night classes. We're doing things to push the company forward instead of just maintaining the status quo. Now our growth is coming with maximum profitability."

"Novell will also use LabExpert throughout its own training facilities," said Lutz Ziob, director of worldwide sales programs, Novell Education. "With the release of NetWare 5 drawing closer, NAECs are seeing an increase in customer demand. LabExpert provides our education partners the most efficient tool to configure their computer labs, enabling them to turn classrooms around more quickly and offer more classes to meet the increased demand of Novell customers."

"KeyLabs is pleased to support Novell's education and training efforts by supporting Novell Education partners," said Jan Newman, president and CEO, KeyLabs. "LabExpert is a natural fit for Novell education centers and is a proven solution for increasing efficiency and expanding business opportunities."

Under the promotion, prices begin at US $52.50 per node for a 10-node license, which is a 30 percent discount from the regular price. NAEC training sites can purchase LabExpert through KeyLabs' resellers and distributors worldwide. In addition, LabExpert is available at the KeyLabs booth at Novell's Edge conference June 28 through July 1 in San Francisco. Specific price quotes and the names of KeyLabs Authorized Resellers can be obtained by forwarding an E-mail to sales@keylabs.com.
