Novell UK -- 10th August, 1998 -- Novell today announced a major advertising and
direct mail campaign to encourage registration for PartnerNet, its new channel partner program
throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As more partners join the program the complete roll out
around the region is expected by 31st October 1998. The campaign aims to communicate the benefits of
PartnerNet, which include training, discounted support, free software and exclusive product information,
to more than 25,000 resellers, consultants, developers, OEMs, NSPs, and ISPs.
The re-engineered channel program, pioneered by Novell EMEA, replaces the previous localized and
hierarchical system with a new two-tier PartnerNet program of Business Partners and Business
Experts.
"PartnerNet is customer driven. It provides a platform for the channel to deliver more value-add service
to their customers. Together, Novell Business Partners and Business Experts create a powerful sales
machine," says Johan Rosius, Director of Partners and Alliances, EMEA Novell.
Novell also announced that Business Experts will have the opportunity to market their Novell skills and
expertise to the entire Novell customer base, following the successful roll out of PartnerNet, through a
Partner Locator on the Novell World Wide Web site. The Partner Locator is an intelligent online search
engine linked to a database containing information on Novell Business Experts and their key areas of
Novell expertise. It will provide an easy-to-use Novell skills directory to help customers locate and
contact suppliers that offer the services they require.
Johan Rosius, Novell says: "PartnerNet will revolutionize the way Novell communicates with companies
developing, integrating and selling solutions on and for the Novell platform. With unrestricted access to a
wealth of Novell technical and marketing support and via the Web, Novell Business Partners and
Business Experts will be able to take advantage of more sales and development opportunities than ever
before.
Through PartnerNet's Internet-based communication tool, PartnerWeb, Novell can more efficiently
deliver comprehensive and consistent sales support, product information and technical knowledge. This
enables Business Partners and Business Experts to capitalize on sales and development opportunities.
Companies can register to become Novell Business Partners via the PartnerNet Website at www.novell.com/emea/partnernet/.
