Novell Acquires Netoria, Inc.

NICE, France (BrainShare Europe '99) — May 18, 1999 — Novell®, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOVL) today announced its acquisition of Netoria, Inc., a privately held developer of directory enhancement software based in Orem, Utah. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Netoria's technology extends and enhances the use of Novell Directory Services® (NDS™) across business networks. Their products are aimed at simplifying the use of directory services for end users and providing new value to network administrators.

Novell over the next several months will integrate Netoria products and technology into its product line. During the transition period, Netoria will continue to distribute and support its products through existing channels, including products available for download from the World Wide Web at www.netoria.com.

Netoria's operations will be integrated into Novell's New Products Initiatives Group, reporting to Mike Sheridan, vice president strategic business. The group is focused on development of new application products and business opportunities that leverage NDS.
