NDS for NT 2.01, Now with Internet Protocol (IP) Support, Unifies and Simplifies Management of Mixed Network Environments

PROVO, Utah — June 8, 1999 — Novell®, Inc. today announced the availability of NDS™ for NT 2.01 — the latest version of NDS for NT. NDS for NT 2.01 is the solution that allows businesses to effectively manage network environments that include Windows NT by leveraging the capabilities of the industry's leading directory technology, Novell Directory Services® (NDS).

NDS for NT 2.01 creates a single user identity across a multi-vendor network to help organizations more easily manage change while they grow their business. NDS for NT boosts productivity by eliminating redundant administrative tasks and by providing easier access to enterprise resources. Enhancements to NDS for NT 2.01 include native IP support and improved performance for the NDS replica running on the NT Server. These improvements significantly enhance the role NDS for NT can play in providing directory-enabled services on NT Server, like Novell BranchManager® for NT. Novell BranchManager for NT is a suite of products, which manages both NT Server and Windows desktops in NT-only branch offices.

NDS for NT 2.01 can be obtained in the following ways:

• New licenses can be purchased for $26 per user and $695 per NT replica with a five-user license. To order, customers may contact an authorized Novell reseller or call (888) 321-4272.

• NetWare 4 and NetWare 5 customers can obtain the NT replica free of charge for each NetWare license they already have. This promotion is effective through July 31, 1999. Customers can download the replica at the Novell Web site at http://www.novell.com/download/.
