Novell Announces 80-city Reseller Tour for Small Business Suite 5

Novell, Compaq and Oracle Partner to Train Resellers with Focus on the Networked Economy and Internet Needs of Small-business Customers

NEW YORK (PC Expo) - June 22, 1999 — Novell®, Inc. today announced an 80-city tour of the United States and Canada focused on Novell Small Business Suite 5. Novell Small Business Suite 5 is a complete directory-based network server environment designed specifically to meet the needs of small businesses working in Internet time. The tour, which begins July 15 and continues through September, targets resellers who deliver solutions and provide service to the more than 7.5 million small businesses in just the United States alone (source: IDC). In a recent study by CMP, resellers indicated more than 62 percent of their total revenue is derived from the small business market.

Each seminar will last approximately three hours and consist of reseller training on how to sell, install and use Novell Small Business Suite 5 on Compaq Prosignia servers. Seminars will also feature partner presentations on integrated products such as the Oracle8i database management system, Systems Union's SunSystems Accounting, and Evergreen ECential. In addition, participating resellers will receive demo versions of Novell's small business software and will have the $99 fee waived for registration as a Small Business Specialist with Novell's PartnerNet99TM program. For program benefits see: http://www.novell.com/passport/partnernet/nwsb/index.html.

"Compaq Prosignia servers give small businesses enterprise-class advantages without compromising the ease of purchase, installation and use they demand," says John Hampton, director, Commercial Business Development, Compaq Computer Corporation. "Compaq is pleased to deliver with Novell the combined unparalleled solution of Prosignia servers and Novell Small Business Suite 5 to our joint customers and resellers."

"This tour allows us to respond to reseller demand for training them to meet the specific needs of small business customers," said Rick Balazs, product marketing manager for Novell Small Business Suite 5. "Because small businesses typically don't have full-time IS staff, they rely on our resellers for service and support."
