Compaq and Dell Now Shipping Caching Appliances Based on Novell ICS

Caching Appliances Dramatically Accelerate Internet and Web Content Delivery

PROVO, Utah — July 15, 1999 — Novell, Inc. today announced that Compaq and Dell, two of Novell's appliance OEMs, are now shipping caching appliances based on the Novell® Internet Caching System™. This new breed of appliance uses Novell caching software to dramatically improve the speed and efficiency of delivering Web content to employees, business partners and customers on corporate intranets and across the global Internet.

Compaq Computer Corporation has announced the immediate availability in North America of their first appliance targeted at Internet caching, called the Compaq TaskSmart C-Series servers.
