Who:

Novell, Inc., the world's leading provider of directory-enabled networking software. Novell solutions give businesses total control of their private networks and the Internet, simplifying the management of user access and identity.

What:

Novell, Inc. today [Aug. 5, 1999] announced the open-beta availability of Novell® Net Publisher™, one of many new Novell solutions designed to enable businesses to smoothly extend their networks and applications to the Internet. Novell Net Publisher integrates Web publishing with secure, centralized access and management, allowing businesses to take control of the creation, management and publication of their Web content.

Through its integration with Novell Directory Services® (NDS®), Novell Net Publisher provides businesses with various levels of security. These levels of security enable companies to control who can publish content to the Web and who has access to that content. Novell Net Publisher also stores Web documents in their native file format (such as Microsoft Word), which can be converted to HTML on the fly as they are accessed or downloaded in their original format. Novell Net Publisher supports NetWare® and Microsoft Windows NT, and can be accessed using a variety of client interfaces, including Microsoft Office2000, Web browsers or any client compatible with the WebDAV Internet standard.
