Novell Announces Departure of Marketing Executive

PROVO, Utah — Aug. 25, 1999 — Novell, Inc. today announced the resignation of John F. Slitz Jr. as senior vice president, marketing, effective Aug. 31. Mr. Slitz is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

During Mr. Slitz's tenure at Novell, the company has completed a turnaround and entered a new period of growth and leadership in network directory software used to manage and control business networks and the Internet. As the executive responsible for the company's marketing, Mr. Slitz helped Novell reorganize and focus its marketing programs, install a marketing leadership team and revitalize its brand.

Novell has begun the process of filling the opening created by the departure of Mr. Slitz.
