Novell Employees Give to Taiwan and Mexico Victims

Local Company Assists Thousands Impacted by Cross-global Natural Disasters

PROVO, Utah — Oct. 4, 1999 — The globe is being rattled with earthquakes — first in Turkey, then Taiwan and now Mexico. With thousands dead and many more left homeless and suffering, many Utahns are asking how they can help.

Employees at Novell are reaching out to earthquake victims in Taiwan and Mexico by donating money and time. Though they can't literally assist in rescue or cleanup operations, they are donating time in the form of one to five days' pay — donated directly to area humanitarian relief organizations.

Novell is matching employee cash donations and has already committed nearly $100,000 to a Taiwan-based nonprofit organization. With the announcement of last week's earthquake devastation in Mexico, the company extended the employee matching and corporate donation campaign to this cause.
