Today, PolyServe, Inc. and SUSE Linux announced their agreement to jointly provide Linux support and services to enterprise customers worldwide. The two companies also plan to cooperate on co-sales and marketing activities for enterprise applications such as clustered databases, application servers, and web and file servers. conjunction with major server vendors. Sales forces for PolyServe and SuSE
are already engaged in joint field sales activities for database solutions
in the United States and Europe.
LINUXWORLD EXPO, San Francisco, CA 08/13/2002 PolyServe provides system software that simplifies the management of
enterprise applications running on clusters of Intel-based servers.
PolyServe Matrix Server is a cluster file system (CFS) that binds a
cluster of Intel-based servers into a highly flexible, centrally managed
server farm. This CFS enables multiple Intel-based servers to read and
write to multiple single shared file systems on a storage area network
(SAN). This capability provides the scalability and availability of
expensive proprietary systems but with cost-effective industry standard
hardware and software.
SUSE is a leading provider of complete solutions based on Linux. SuSE
Linux Enterprise Server presents professional Linux users an unprecedented
full-service offer. In addition to the operating system basis, optimized
for stability and security, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 7 offers
best-of-breed server capabilities, e.g. file, print, Web, mail and
firewall services. Release cycles of one year provide planning security.
The system maintenance guarantees long-term investment security, since the
certifications of leading hardware and software providers remain valid
even after an update.
"We are pleased to be working with SUSE and are excited about the
opportunities this partnership creates for both companies," said Mike
Stankey, CEO of PolyServe. "SUSE is a leader in bringing Linux solutions
to the enterprise. The combination of the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and

"Together with PolyServe, we provide our enterprise customers high-class
Linux solutions tailored to their most pressing requirements - flexibility
and cost-efficiency throughout the IT infrastructure," said Boris Nalbach,
CTO of SUSE Linux AG.
"We see PolyServe Matrix Server as an important manageability tool for
customers moving enterprise applications onto SUSE Linux Enterprise
Server," said Holger Dyroff, head of SUSE Inc. in Oakland, California.
