PROVO, Utah — Jan. 8, 2001 — Novell, Inc., the leading provider of Net services software,
has announced the acquisition of Scottish consulting systems
integrator, Ariadne * Consulting Ltd, as part of its continuing plans to
develop and grow its Net services solutions business. Through the
acquisition, Ariadne Consulting's business and facilities become
fully-owned by Novell UK Ltd and the company's 28 staff members
are being retained as Novell employees. In fiscal 2000, revenue
from Novell Customer Services business encompassing
consulting, technical support and education grew 20 percent over
fiscal 1999 to US$217 million.
Edinburgh-based Ariadne was founded in 1996, specialising in
providing IT consulting services with expertise in Novell, IBM,
Microsoft * and Oracle * technologies. It has a well-established
customer base, which includes many major companies in Scotland
such as Stage Coach Holdings plc, the Criminal Injuries
Compensation Authority (CICA) and the majority of Scottish
blue-chip financial services companies.
