Novell Opens First Office in Scotland

Edinburgh, Scotland — Feb. 8, 2001 — Novell, Inc., the leading provider of Net Services software, is establishing a new office in Edinburgh to more effectively deliver the benefits of Novell's technology to Scottish companies making the move to eBusiness. Novell's new regional office and technical services facility was opened by David Crichton, Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh & Lothian today. At the official opening were Ken Anderson, Chief Information Officer of Novell, Inc., Steve Brown, Managing Director of Novell UK, and more than 40 guests from major Novell customers around Scotland, including Standard Life and Stirling Council.

Created from Novell's acquisition of Ariadne Consulting Limited in December 2000, the Edinburgh facility is Novell's first UK regional office, employing 30 staff and housing a new eBusiness solutions centre. Growth in Novell Customer Services business, encompassing consulting, technical support and education, grew 20 percent in fiscal year 2000 and Novell's plans for growth in services to support market development in eBusiness will be reflected by continued investment in Scotland this year. Novell's UK headquarters is in Bracknell, Berkshire, where over 200 staff are based.

Ken Anderson, Novell's Chief Information Officer said, "Edinburgh is at the heart of one of the fastest-growing financial services centres in Europe and many companies in the area have already embraced the need for change brought about by the Internet.
