Novell Tapped by Fortune as One of Software Industry's Most Admired
PROVO, Utah —March 2, 2001—Novell was ranked fifth in Fortune Magazine's Year 2000 ranking of most admired companies in the computer software industry category. The winners were chosen from the 1,000 highest revenue ranking U.S. companies and the 25 largest U.S. subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies. These companies were divided into industry-specific categories and classified according to input from 10,000 industry executives, directors, and analysts. Each specialist evaluated companies in their own industry based on management and product quality, long-term investment value, social responsibility and use of talents and assets. As Fortune points out, " the result, backed by 19 years of experience, is an industry-by-industry guide to corporate America's shiniest reputations."
