Cedar City Smart Site Chosen by Novell

SALT LAKE CITY— April 30, 2001 — Governor Mike Leavitt today announced that Novell, Inc. has agreed to outsource technical support jobs to the Cedar City Smart Site at Southern Utah University. This is the first agreement with a major technology company for outsourcing jobs through the Smart Site initiative.

"Novell has always been a committed state and community partner, providing good paying, high quality jobs," said Leavitt. "Their involvement with the Smart Site initiative sends the message that Utah is an innovative leader in providing hightech, quality jobs statewide."

Smart Sites represent rural Utah's connection to Governor Leavitt's Silicon Valley Alliance. Companies from throughout the world can electronically outsource with these sites for services such as software testing, technical call centers, database management, data entry and website development.
