Automotive Industry Gets Added Horsepower with Novell Products

PROVO, Utah — June 25, 2001 — Novell has announced the world's leading automotive corporations including Toyota and Nissan have standardized on Novell's Net services software to secure and accelerate their eBusiness activities on the Net. In an industry traditionally driven to stay on the cutting-edge of technology, these companies now provide employees "anytime, anywhere" access to the information they need, improving global collaboration within the company and reducing costs.

Global manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution networks are integrated into a single Net - across multiple platforms, the intranet, extranet, and the Internet on Novell's Net Services software. This allows these companies to bring business applications and new services to the Web, centralize their network management across massive networks, and secure and monitor who has access to network resources both within and outside the corporation.

These auto manufacturers are embracing the Net to reduce costs and streamline business processes while reducing complexities and security risks. Novell's solutions are acting as the Internet infrastructure foundation for these companies to integrate their networks and accelerate employee, customer and supplier access to secure network resources.
