TOKYO, Japan - Feb 20, 2002 - Novell announced that Diamond Solution Plaza (DSP), a Mitsubishi Electric group Application Service Provider (ASP), adopted Novell eDirectory and Novell iChain as the authentication/authorization infrastructure for "e-Plaza," a recently opened, integrated Web portal service for Mitsubishi Electric group companies. Novell's solution helps DSP offer a secure and personalized single sign-on environment for e-Plaza users.

Novell eDirectory and iChain help DSP offer a Web portal where Mitsubishi Electric group companies conduct business transactions with their partners and customers in an environment that is both secure and offers personalized, single sign-on to all relevant applications. The two products offer intelligent functionality including authentication, access control, caching and user account management, enabling an ideal Web portal engine customizable for the needs of each DSP customer.

Web portals offer Web-based integration of various information-sharing services consumed by specific organizations. Deployment of Novell Net services software adds identity-based, fine-grained access control/personalization capabilities to the portal infrastructure and allows transparent use of all required applications and content with one login.
