BorderManager also garners ICSA Labs Certification, a globally recognized standard for security solutions

PROVO, Utah - Sept. 19, 2002 - Novell is making it easier for businesses, schools and government agencies to monitor and block inappropriate Internet content.

The company today announced the availability of new Internet filtering software for use with Novell BorderManager 3.7. N2H2, one of the world's top Internet filtering companies, has released new versions of its Sentian and Bess products for Novell BorderManager 3.7. The identity-based Internet access control of BorderManager, coupled with this Internet filtering capability, enables organizations to control and monitor users' access to the Internet - limiting potential legal liability, increasing user productivity and optimizing network bandwidth.

"Our integration experience with N2H2 and Novell BorderManager has been great," said Mike Huttanus, technical coordinator for Kimberly School District in Kimberly, Idaho. "The solution has simplified the process of managing students' external access to the Internet as well as the content that flows in. And we are pleased with how easy it has been to set up and implement."

BorderManager continues to support the SurfControl Content Database for Internet filtering. Adding support for N2H2's offerings gives the more than 8 million BorderManager users the choice to deploy Internet filtering software that best suits their needs.

"BorderManager customers now have the choice to use one of the industry's top-rated filtering solutions," said Philip Welt, president and CEO of N2H2. "A recent study conducted by eTesting Labs for the Department of Justice found N2H2's database to be the most effective among the major filters with a 98 percent effectiveness rating."

Novell Product Manager Scott Jones added, "2002 has been marked by significant momentum for BorderManager. In addition to the shipment of version 3.7, the BorderManager firewall recently earned the ICSA Labs Certification - a globally recognized standard by which top security solutions are recognized. Add to that the new support for N2H2 Sentian and Bess, and BorderManager offers customers a stronger, more robust solution than ever before."
