05/27/2002 — As announced on March 13th at CeBIT, mySAP.com for the IBM eServer zSeries is now generally available on Linux. Shipping commenced May 21st, which is two weeks earlier than expected.

SUSE has made available a 64-bit version of their current SLES 7 distribution based on the 2.4 kernel. This will allow SAP customers to run the application server on zSeries machines in a fully supported environment.

Currently, only the SAP release 4.6D is available. Commencing with the mySAP Technology release 6.20, this platform will be part of the standard distribution process. The supported database platform is IBM DB2, UDB for OS/390 and z/OS only.
