08/08/2002 — The latest update of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 7 is now certified for Oracle9i Database Release 2, Oracle's advanced database technology. The certification allows Oracle9i customers to benefit from the latest innovations in Linux development that are bundled into the new update of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 7, e.g.:

• Optimized kernel 2.4.18 with support for Intel's new Foster hardware and many drivers for the latest RAID, SCSI, and network devices
• mtx tape driver enables backups with multiple tape drives
• FreeSWAN 1.95 provides additional security

For users of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, the latest technology for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7 is available for download from the SUSE Linux Maintenance Web Site or on CD as part of the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Update Service.
