Novell to Showcase Secure Web Service Solutions at 2003 JavaOne Conference

PROVO, Utah — 03 June 2003 — Novell is traditionally known for its key role defining the corporate network in the 1980s, but did you know that the company also provides state-of-the-art Web application development and secure identity management solutions? A gold co-sponsor of the 2003 JavaOne Worldwide Developer conference being held June 10-13 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Novell is participating in a full range of activities highlighting its Novell exteNd and Nsure solution families.

Novell exteNd and Nsure products combine to deliver a comprehensive solution to help IT organizations rapidly build, secure and deploy today's advanced J2EE- and Web services-based applications. Attendees should stop by Novell's booth #1523 to see demonstrations of its secure Web services solutions. The company will also address many of the emerging trends in advanced Web application development, as well as deliver case studies highlighting real world successes with Novell products and solutions:

  • David Litwack, Novell's senior vice president for Web application development, is presenting a session titled "From Legacy to Services-oriented Architectures Through Visual Development" at the JavaOne Pavilion Theater 2 on Tuesday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Ashish Larivee, director of the exteNd technology group for Novell, is presenting a session titled "The Latest Trends in Development Tools for the J2EE Platform," scheduled for Wednesday, June 11 at 12:15 p.m. at the Moscone Center in Esplande 301 (TS-3639)
  • Misha Davidson, product manager for the Novell exteNd Application Server, is participating in a panel discussion titled "Choosing a J2EE compatible Application Server" on Thursday, June 12 at 12:15 at the Moscone Center in Esplande 301 (BUS-2104)
  • From the booth in the JavaOne Pavilion, Novell will be featuring a theater presentation titled "Services-oriented Architecture in the Real World - A Case Study" every hour on the hour during Pavilion hours
  • Also from the booth during Pavilion hours, Novell will feature a technology preview titled "The Future of Visual Application Development," running on the half hour.
