PROVO, Utah — July 7, 2003 — How can secure identity management help businesses manage their compliance with government regulations such as HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and the European Data Protection Directive? That's the question Novell will answer during a presentation Wednesday, July 9, at Burton Group's Catalyst Conference in San Francisco.

A major theme of this year's Catalyst Conference, which runs July 9-11, is enterprise identity management — "one of the most important infrastructure investments enterprises will ever make," according to the Burton Group Web site. Paul Turner, Novell vice president of product management, will help customers draw the connection between managing identity and government regulations during his presentation "Secure Identity Management and Regulatory Compliance" July 9 at 10 a.m. PDT in the Continental Ballroom of the Hilton San Francisco.

Novell Nsure secure identity management customer Star Alliance, an airline network of 16 major airlines with more than 300,000 employees, will also present at Catalyst Conference. Frank Schuemann, project manager for Star Alliance, will discuss the infrastructure the alliance uses to enable identity management among member airlines during his presentation "User Management: Supporting a Partner Community" July 9 at 2:15 p.m. PDT in the Continental Ballroom.

Attendees at Catalyst Conference can also get a first-hand look at these and other Novell solutions at Novell's hospitality suite July 9 from 6-10 p.m. PDT in the Imperial Ballroom B.
