12/09/2003 — This year's channel champions were selected by 1,200 independent IT companies in Germany. With its Partner Program, which was launched at the CeBIT 2003 trade show, SUSE Linux promptly conquered the 4th place!

"As we predicted a year ago (see ComputerPartner 47/02, page 31), the Linux issue had a major impact on this year's ranking of the software channel champions," comments ComputerPartner editor Dr. Ronald Wiltscheck. "SUSE jumped from nowhere to the 4th place. Together with the network software company Novell, which regained some ground in the retail market, SUSE could challenge the positions of the three leading companies Adobe, Microsoft, and Symantec."
