06/23/2003 SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 for S/390 and zSeries (31-bit) now
certified for Oracle9i Database
SUSE Linux has proven itself once more as the leading platform for
Oracle-based solutions on multiple hardware platforms. SUSE Linux
Enterprise Server 8 was at the top of the Oracle Application Standard
Benchmark (OASB) -- as operating system in the database tier of both a
cluster configuration and a single-server configuration.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 achieved the highest performance results
in a HP server cluster configuration. In addition, SUSE Linux Enterprise
Server 8 achieved the highest Linux results in a single-server
configuration with an IBM xSeries server.
SUSE also announced the certification of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8
for S/390 and zSeries (31-bit) for Oracle9i Database. The certification
provides enterprise customers committed to deploying an extensive e-business
infrastructure on IBM mainframes the flexibility to choose
industry-leading Oracle technology on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 for
S/390 and zSeries.
