Getting and Applying the Most Current Service Pack
Over time, Service Packs (SPs) are released for SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10. They contain support for new hardware that comes onto the market as well as a roll-up of all previously released patches and previous SPs.
These SPs are bootable. They can be used to kick off an installation of SLED and thereby front-load the drivers for newer or newly supported hardware.
Here is how you get them:
- Go to SUSE patch support database (PSDB).
- Select most current SP and architecture of choice.
- Download the first disks of the respective SP. It is highly recommended that you md5sum check your downloads. (The last ISO in a series may be source code and may not be needed for installation.)
Either kick off an installation with disk #1 of the respective SP or apply the SP to the SLED installation with the YaST "Patch CD Update" module.
