Interoperability
More About Interoperability
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is a robust platform designed for mission-critical workloads that has tremendous levels of interoperability with existing IT infrastructures and applications.
Microsoft Windows Interoperability
SUSE Linux Enterprise is the only Linux distribution endorsed by Microsoft. With the partnership between Novell and Microsoft, the era of isolated Windows and Linux deployments is over. We are jointly developing new solutions that will make Novell and Microsoft products work better together. In particular, we are collaborating in four areas:
- Virtualization
- Standards-based systems management
- Directory and identity federation
- Office document formats
Each company is committing significant financial and staff resources to these efforts. This partnership will yield enterprise-class interoperability solutions for the heterogeneous data center that Novell, Microsoft and our partners fully support.
Our jointly developed solutions will enable you to be more proactive with IT innovations that drive substantial operational improvements. Examples include:
- Reducing complexity. You can more easily manage mixed Linux and Windows deployments.
- Increasing productivity. You perform less maintenance and focus more on projects that drive revenue and add value.
- Enhancing flexibility. You choose how to provision which workloads.
- Improving support. You get the support resources you need to keep everything up and running.
- Lowering costs. You can do more with the hardware and software you already have.
