Email Address Lookup

When you create a new GroupWise user, group, or resource, the Admin console checks for duplicate object names and duplicate email addresses.

The Admin console does not allow you to create a new user, group, or resource that would result in a duplicate object name. However, because multiple email address formats are allowed, it is possible to create a new object that would have an email address that is already in use in your GroupWise system.

If you create a new object that would result in a duplicate email address, you receive a warning message, and you can resolve the problem later. Because of the variety of email address formats, it might not be obvious what other object already has the email address until you look it up.

Search: Specify the existing email address, then click OK to list the object that already has the email address. Click the object to display identifying information about it.

To resolve the situation, specify a unique email address in the Preferred Email ID field on the Internet Addressing tab of one of the objects.
